Coffee Party USA is proud to be a partner organization on the $64,000 Democracy For All Video Challenge – a contest seeking to tap into the creative potential of Americans of all political stripes with short, powerful videos in support of the Democracy For All Amendment to get big money out of politics.

The goal is two-fold: to encourage activists and filmmakers, both brand-new and experienced, to create videos highlighting the need for money in politics reform and to use those videos to inspire action in support of the Democracy For All Amendment.

Here’s how it works:

From August 12 – December 2, 2015 anyone can submit a short video (30-90 seconds) that includes a call-to-action in support of the Democracy for All Amendment. The call-to-action drives viewers to a website — www.DemocracyForAll.com — where they will be able to send an email to their members of Congress urging them to support the amendment.

Each week of the contest, judges will award a “weekly winner” prize of ($1,000) to the creator of one of the best videos submitted so far.

At the close of the contest, a grand prize ($25,000) and five category prizes ($5,000 each) will be awarded among all of the entries. Category prizes include:

• Funniest Video
• Best Student Video
• Best Original Song Video
• Best Dramatic Video
• Best Creative Video

The Coffee Party Board of Directors is already planning to make a video at the Annual Meeting in August. We all hope you will make a video, too. Watch our Facebook page for sample videos!
