May 28th at 8:30 p.m. ET, Coffee Party USA will host a conversation on our radio network. AND we invite you to host your own conversation using the same Living Room Conversations guidelines.
Have you heard about the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP)? Most folks who know about the agreement have some pretty strong feelings about it one way or the other!
The Obama Administration says that this trade agreement “will boost U.S. economic growth, support American jobs, and grow Made-in-America exports to some of the most dynamic and fastest growing countries in the world.” The agreement appears to have much support in both parties. Yet critics are complaining about the secrecy around both the negotiations and terms of the agreement as well as expressing concerns that the TPP will ultimately hurt American workers. What do you think?
Here at the Coffee Party USA, we think its time to have a civil and reasoned conversation on the TPP!
Join us on Thursday, May 28, at 8:30pm eastern time for a special Coffee Party radio show as we use the concepts of “Living Room Conversations” to have a respectful discussion around this controversial topic with special guests.
Living Room Conversations is a process that allows individuals to get to know one another in a more meaningful way - while also exploring a contested issue. Guided by a simple and sociable format, participants practice being open and curious about all perspectives, with a focus on learning from one another, rather than trying to debate the topic at hand.
Come learn about both the TPP and the Living Room Conversation process and discover a practical way to bring civility and reason back to our political discourse.
