Dear Members of Congress,
I'm writing to you as a private citizen and not as a spokesperson for any organization.
Please get some help to Main St before it is too late. We need healthcare, jobs and support for small businesses. Call it a bail-out. Call it a stimulus. It doesn't matter. But do not ignore the urgent needs of millions of struggling Americans. And, do not malign this as an "entitlement program" or welfare.
This is about our physical survival. This is about our right to Life.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.
If we don't get help, many of us will get sick, go hungry and homeless. The urgency of this situation is felt dramatically along the Gulf Coast where there are many small business people suddenly without income. Aware that there may be long-term health impact, they are forced into taking low-paying clean-up jobs with no health insurance working for the company that has destroyed their livelihood. This is just wrong.
Can't you figure out a way of working together so that there is a focus on helping Americans on Main St.? Do you see the job numbers? There are 14 million people unemployed and hundreds of businesses failing everyday.
So stop the fighting and electioneering and get to work for the people paying your salaries and health insurance, the American workers and the Middle Class.
