Our local Coffee Party was launched in 2010 by Bill Bekkenhuis with about thirty members. I took over in June of 2010. We have had monthly events, most recently separate appearances by the two Democratic primary candidates for the United States Congress.
We are working on the following events:

A debate between the Republican incumbent and the Democratic General Election candidate.
Some up coming events we have scheduled include:

A National Coffee Party Week event on June 3rd

An Independence day cookout

A discussion with a local realtor regarding the housing and foreclosure crisis on May 13th.
We have a publicist who makes phone calls and prepares flyers that are posted around the area to promote our local events.
I am working closely with a local Republican, Chadd Horton, to open up our organization to Republicans. Chadd has a website, The Revamped Republicans, and is a talented young documentary filmmaker. He is working on a political film that dramatically and brilliantly illustrates with video, statistics, and analysis the major themes of the Coffee Party. He will show the trailer to the video on July 4th, and premiere the actual video at the LV Coffee Party meeting of October 28, before releasing it nationally a week before Election Day.
