Fair Elections Now Act -- Passes out of committee

We learned in Louisville that the bill passed on a 5-4 vote. After all the applause, we were reminded that the next step is just around the corner.

We need to get it to the House floor this week for a full vote. The Coffee Party has signed on to a letter to Speaker Pelosi, urging her to do just that, and it would make a big difference if Members received phone calls urging the speker to just that.

Fair Elections Now Act -- Vote Scheduled for Thurs, September 23rd

The House Administration Committee will vote on the Fair Elections Now Act on Sept 23rd. This is the last step before the bill advances to the floor for a full House vote. As you may recall, Fair Elections is a voluntary system that finances the campaigns of qualified candidates for Congress so they can run a competitive race without courting special interests.
